A new Dutch escape

Six merchant houses, joined along the canal.

Gracht Royale Casino Hotel is a fictional destination spread across a row of six tall, narrow Dutch canal houses from the seventeenth century—stepped and bell gables, big warehouse hoist beams under the eaves, steep winding stairs and rooms that look straight out over the water. Deep slate, canal green, warm brick and pale sandstone run through the whole casino hotel, knitted together behind the old facades.

Watch the boats slip by beneath your window at breakfast. Climb the steep old stairs past centuries of merchant history. Then step down into our adults-only casino salon in the vaulted brick cellars where the goods once came in off the barges. Everything in this casino hotel keeps the tall, proud, water-facing character of the great canal houses.

Het Grachtenhuis Restaurant

At the water's edge.

Our signature restaurant sits right on the canal, tables at the tall windows above the water—North Sea fish, Zeeland mussels and oysters, thick pea soup, cheese from the polders, and apple tart to finish. The genever is Dutch and cold, boats pass a metre below the glass, and the room opens onto the casino hotel cellars a few steps away.
